Quotes come from the business, not from us, and there’s no obligation to go ahead.
To help them quote, mention:
- what happened: a loud bang, the door crooked or off its track, the opener or remote not working, or a new noise
- the type of door: sectional (panels that run up and along the ceiling), roller, or tilt
- the opener’s brand, if you know it
- whether a car is stuck inside
- whether it’s a single or double door
- whether it’s a house, a townhouse or a unit, and whether you own or rent
If the opener needs a new power point, that part must be done by a licensed electrician. Ask the business how they’ll handle it.
Photos help, but keep clear of the door while you take them, and don’t try to move it if a spring or cable has broken.
